From one side of the Lake Como Comic Festival to the other

|
It was Lake Como that was. No cosplay. No TV and movie stars. No games or figurines. Just comic artists and comic art, in a place worthy of the beauty of this art, Lake Comic Comic Art Festival. I took lots of photos of the event as well as a From One Side Of The Show To The Other video.
Just like that. And I took lots of photos too, plus last night’s opening gala and today’s art auction, here’s a look at day one of the lake comic festival Como.
An entrance in all the languages expected to possibly attend the show…
The estate of Villa Erba…
And the conference center itself.
Has a bit of a San Diego flavor, and not just the weather.
Anyone can walk the red carpet.
The nicest man in comics Mark Buckingham, with his agent Joseph who does all the nasty things. A big year for Mark, he is working on two highly anticipated series, the return of Fables and Miracleman… so no pressure there then.
The longest line of the show for Milo Manara…
…but his neighbor Frank Cho didn’t do badly either.
Esad Ribic checks the colors and the print in his new work Eternals, fresh off the presses.
As Liam Sharp delves into the detail and size of his original art.
Dave McKean drew a crowd for his original art that may have been slightly understated.
Like even me, I could afford the illustration of Wolves In The Wall.
While Olivier Coipel’s covers have caused an online firestorm, seemingly naked women are fine, but naked men? Nonetheless, it made for a rather hot exclusive cover for Image Comics’ new Blood Staines Teeth comic.
How I think I’m gonna shut up and let the rest of the pics speak for themselves, I want to go out to dinner, hope I’m ok…it looks pretty glorious and the smells are drawing me in.
