Harrogate praised for hosting ‘best thought bubble convention’ as comic book fans flock to event

After the lockdown brought the event live last year, organizers wondered what the reception would look like when it returned to the flesh for the first time since moving from Leeds to the Harrogate Convention Center in 2019.

But the reaction from spectators – some of whom were dressed up as famous figures from the world of superheroes and comics – was so good at last weekend’s event that organizers are already planning next year.

Thought Bubble Deputy Director Martha Julian said, “We want to thank everyone who came to the Think Bubble Comic Art Convention. It was, quite honestly, the best convention we’ve ever had, with more people on the doorstep than our first time in Harrogate in 2019. We can’t wait to get into next year’s convention. Thanks thanks thanks!”

With a range of Covid security measures in place at the Harrogate Convention Center, comic con attendance figures were still p in 2019.
