Indonesia Comic Con 2022, the first to be held after two years of pandemic

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – After two long years without a face-to-face event, Panorama Media has finally held the country’s biggest pop culture celebration event again, Indonesia Comic Con 2022.

This year’s Indonesia Comic Con event was the first to be held after being postponed in 2019 due to the pandemic. The two-day event is now at the JCC (Jakarta Convention Center) Hall B from October 1-2, 2022.

Royanto Handaya, Director of Panorama Media, said, “Indonesia Comic Con is a celebratory event that is always looked forward to by tens of thousands of fans across the pop culture world. Andita Tirtawisata, Project Manager for Indonesia Comic Con 2022, said that “In this 6th year, most of the contents of Indonesia Comic Con are from Indonesian pop culture, one of them is from Indonesian cinemas (We) also provide a special space for local artists to showcase their character and products.(…) Indonesia Comic Con also features big-name virtual guests such as Brandon Routh, international cosplayers Knite and Jasper, as well as international comic artist Carlo in hopes of continuing to bring new things to fans and also new perspectives for Indonesian pop culture.

Several movie launches are also at Indonesia Comic Con, including Sri Asih from the Bumilangit storyline, which is based on the fictional character of comics author RA Kosasih, and also Tirathe first live-action superhero series from the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe, which will soon premiere exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar, and also Qodrat directed by Charles Gozali.

Some of the films also campaigning at Indonesia Comic Con are Avatar, Andor, she hulk, black adamand also Dungeons & Dragons. There are also several product launches, such as Infinix’s collaboration with Komik Ga Jelas, the Paras Comic mobile app and also Digitalogy.”

During the Indonesia Comic Con 2022 event, TikTok Shop is present as the main sponsor to introduce a new way of shopping for various fashion needs of pop culture lovers. With the theme “For Your Fashion”, TikTok Shop wants to help pop culture lovers and fans find the latest styles and trends through a variety of premium fashion products showcased at this event.

This time, Indonesia Comic Con has also collaborated with several local NFT players such as NFT Ticketing SerMorpheus and Paras Comic as NFT Marketplace Brand Partners.

Kenneth Destian Tali, CEO of SerMorpheus, said that “NFT tickets can be an interesting introduction for Indonesia Comic Con, so they can provide other benefits in the future for visitors and fans who have helped make Indonesia Comic Con 2022 a success”.

For movie buffs, Indonesia Comic Con featured virtual guest star Brandon Routh, who played Clark Kent/Superman in The Return of Superman (2006). Production houses such as Screenplay Bumilangit are also bringing in Pevita Pearce and Jefri Nichol. Additionally, Disney+ Hotstar with Bumilangit storyline also featured a row of actors and filmmakers from the Tira series, like Joko Anwar who is the producer of this series, Zahir Omar as the director, Chelsea Island as Tira, as well as other actors, and finally there is Qodrat which will star Marsha Timothy and also Vino G. Bastian.

For cosplay lovers, Indonesia Comic Con 2022 featured two international cosplayers: Knite and Jasper, and there’s also Echow from Indonesia. In addition to guests, Indonesia Comic Con has created a special area for cosplayers who will participate in the main stage of Indonesia Comic Con.

For VTuber lovers, Indonesia Comic Con featured two well-known VTubers from Hololive Indonesia, Kobo and Moona, and several other VTubers from different agencies such as Crystella, Mythia Batford and Ghosty.

For comic fans, Indonesia Comic featured a CGC from the Philippines, as well as international cartoonist Carlo Pagulayan. Additionally, comic artists such as Ario Anindito, Alti Firmansyah, and Sweta Kartika will be drawing live on the main stage of Indonesia Comic Con.

For music lovers, Indonesia Comic Con introduced the Shojo Complex and also collaborated with KaijuBop bringing DJ Throoper x Angel’s Percussion who host the event, where Indonesia Comic Con fans can enjoy music from the world of pop culture in the “After Dark”.

Presale Indonesia Comic Con ticket price is Rp 75,000 per day for regulars, while regular regular ticket price is Rp 125,000 per day, Rp 200,000 for two days. Also available for VIP cosplayers at 200,000 Rp and also Super VIP at 1,000,000 Rp accessible for 2 days. Presale, VIP Cosplayer and Super VIP purchases are only available at SerMorpheus, for regular tickets per day, per two days and regular tickets for cosplayers (100,000 Rp per day) can be purchased through Loket.com, Gotix , Tokopedia, Shopee and Blibli.
