Local Comic Shop Celebrates Free Comic Book Day

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Comic Quest has a new location just in time for Free Comic Book Day on May 7. The store’s new location is at 8401 N. Kentucky Avenue behind Bob’s Bfit on US Hwy 41 North.

This is the first free comic day in two years since the start of the pandemic. The extravaganza will feature local guest artists, door prizes and free comics!

“We’re very excited to have our big annual Free Comic Book Day celebration back,” said Monti Floyd, head of Comic Quest. “We had smaller events in 2020 and 2021, but it just wasn’t the same. The first Saturday in May has always been one of our favorite days, as we can give back to our regular customers and attract new readers to the wonderful world of comics! »

This year, each patron who attends can choose up to five comics from a selection of fantastical heroes and stories from multiple genres and comic book companies.

More information can be learned on the Comic Quest Facebook page.

Comic Quest opened in October 1990 near the University of Evansville. Comic Quest has existed along the city’s Morgan Avenue corridor, but the new location allows them to provide a showcase for comics, games, and toys.

The store now serves the children and grandchildren of the first customers who shopped at Comic Quest.
