Local Comic Shop Day announces first three promotions
Local Comic Shop Day is Wednesday, November 24 (the day before Thanksgiving.) Held for the seventh time this year, it is a local comic book party / promotion hosted by the group of ComicsPro comic book retailers. The goal is to spotlight local stores and retailers, and publishers are making special promotional week items available, bearing the LCSD logo.
Stores can now register for the promotion for free at www.comicspro.org/lcsd2021. Participating stores will be reminded to order special items of which the first three have been announced:
- JOY OPERATIONS 1, Dark Horse Comics. From Peabody and Brian Michael Bendis, winner of multiple Eisner Awards, this Jinxworld comic goes 55 years into the future and stars Joy, who is an ENVOI., A special agent for the Jonando Trust. Stephen Byrne art with a Tyler Boss cover variant.
- CHUCK D PRESENTS APOCALYPSE 91 REVOLUTION NEVER SLEEP, Z2 Comics. limited edition graphic novel. Celebrate the 30e anniversary of the Public Enemy album, “Apocalypse 91: The Enemy Strikes Back”.
- METALLICA SPECIAL EDITION, 10 Tons Press. Reissued to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Metallica’s “Black Album”.
“We are very excited about our first three titles announced,” said Jenn Haines, Chairman of the Board of ComicsPRO. “Not only do we have Joy Operations, the first Jinxworld title released by Dark Horse Comics, but also two incredible music projects, Metallica Special Edition and Apocalypse 91. The world of comics and music has always been connected, but over and over again. Over the past few years we have seen more and more titles like these, which bring new readers to comic book stores, looking for material from their favorite bands.
