SnyderVerse Justice League Fan Poster Honors Iconic DC Comic

A new fan poster for Justice League from director Zack Snyder pays homage to Paul Dini and Alex Ross’ comics, The World’s Greatest Superheroes.

A new fan poster for the director Zack Snyder’s Justice League pays homage to some iconic DC comic book covers. Thanks to the visual style and aesthetics of movies like 300 (2007) and watchmen (2009), Snyder made a name for himself bringing graphic novels to life even before the DC Extended Universe. After the warm welcome from Steel man (2013), Snyder positioned himself as the visionary who would lead the DCEU or, rather, the SnyderVerse.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) was reportedly hampered by studio interference before being criticized. In 2017, Snyder was forced out of Justice League production following a family drama. This resulted in the release of what fans call “Josstice League” and those infamous tales of troubled production under the direction of Joss Whedon. Thanks to overwhelming fan support via the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign, Snyder’s Justice League came out last year. The four-hour cut represents the culmination of the story that began in man of steel and is universally hailed as superior to his theatrical counterpart. Friday marked the one-year anniversary of The Snyder Cut’s release on HBO Max.

The piece includes a black Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern costume. Check out the design below:

Following the release of Snyder’s Justice LeagueThe Snyder Cut movement evolved into #RestoreTheSnyderVerse, which was only exacerbated by the plans of Justice League sequels and Wayne Carr’s John Stewart/Green Lantern reveal. As #RestoreTheSnyderVerse trends amid the first anniversary of Snyder’s Justice League, the art above is a great way to pay homage to both the SnyderVerse and the comics that inspired it. Unfortunately, Warner Bros./DC Films has shown no interest in restoring Snyder’s plans for the DCEU.

While fans may never see the sequels to Snyder’s Justice League, the SnyderVerse will live on with Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller, all of whom were cast by Snyder. On top of that, Ben Affleck is set to return as the Caped Crusader in the upcoming the flash. Even though this multiversal adventure shelves the SnyderVerse timeline, the creative battles Snyder endured during his time with WB/DC Films seemingly paved the way for change. Writers and directors like James Gunn and Matt Reeves had complete creative control over HBO Max’s Peacemaker and The Batman, respectively. As the DCEU evolves, the SnyderVerse will live on with the fandom as it is immortalized in popular culture.
