Star Wars Comic Has An Epic Battle Between Ren And Vader
The latest issue of Star Wars comic spin-off Crimson Reign showed a surprising battle between two factions of legendary characters. If you are not aware of the latest issue of Crimson Reign, so look away now. There are going to be a lot of spoilers ahead!
The clash of legends
The original Star Wars trilogy and sequel series have come to a head in the latest edition of the Star Wars comic. The Knights of Ren came up against the omnipotence of Darth Vader. You might think they would be on the same side, but not this time. In a surprising turn of events, it was actually the Knights of Ren who got a victory in this fight. You can see the full fight in Star Wars: Crimson Reign number 4, released today.
Earlier, the Knights of Ren traveled to the volcanic planet of Mustafar to try and overpower the Sith. Qi’ra gave them this information. You may know her from Solo: A Star Wars Story, where she played Han Solo’s first love interest. She played an important role in this Star Wars comic spin off.
The Knights of Ren are looking for a secret key they believe is inside Darth Vader’s castle. It is certainly not a journey that any of us would take lightly! However, their trip went much smoother than expected. Surprisingly, all of the castle defenses are pretty minimal. The Knights of Ren take the key and begin to leave the murderous castle.
Darth Vader’s Revenge
Suddenly, Darth Vader appears out of nowhere and insists on stopping them from leaving. Darth Vader uses his Force Choking powers on the Knights without saying a word. Before any of them can react, Vader kills one of Ren’s Knights. Angered, Kylo Ren fights Vader with his lightsaber. A formidable fight then ensues between the two of them, a first for the Star Wars comic.
As you’d expect, Vader is able to quickly hit Ren with a lightsaber to the side. However, Kylo Ren has a trick up his sleeve and jumps out the window. Obviously, he knows when there is a bigger enemy and decides to flee the scene. The other knights follow suit, and that seems to be the end for the Star Wars comic.
Afterwards, Kylo stops running to tease Vader, telling him that the Knights managed to snatch the key. Thus, Vader attempts to use his Force powers to retrieve Kylo Ren’s key. He comes very close to his target. However, it turns out that it was all part of Ren’s ruse. The Knights of Ren turn their guns on Vader and shoot him.
Finally, Vader is forced to fight against the Knights of Ren. He’s too distracted to just focus on the key, and Kylo Ren is able to flee the scene. The remaining Knights soon follow him, happy with their apparent victory over the Dark Lord. One of the last scenes of Star Wars comic is of Vader’s fury at being defeated.
What’s next for Star Wars comics?
However, it looks like it may be too early for the Knights to start celebrating. The cover of issue 5 of Crimson Reign presents Darth Vader. So we know he’s not out of the picture yet! In fact, the next issue will include Qi’ra “learn a lesson the Jedi Order also understood”. Underestimate Emperor Palpatine and pay the price.
