The 10 best comics that have risen in value over the past week include Thor, Ms. Marvel and more

This week’s Top 10 features a mix of new and repeat entries. Disney+’s OBI-WAN trailer helped two books make the list, with The CW’s GOTHAM KNIGHTS keeping just one. Hot artist Sozomaika claims a spot with his Catwoman #41 cover, while Captain Carter’s 1:25 animated cover doesn’t budge from its position this week. Marvel’s first Illuminanti appearance reappears on the list after dropping for the past two weeks. Newcomers to this week’s Top 10 include the first issue of Jane Foster’s 2014 Thor series and Silver Sable’s debut appearance, prompted by speculation about her appearance in Sony Picture’s KRAVEN. Ms. Marvel hit the internet with her first trailer, taking the top spot with her original number, her first costume, and a key cover. Finally, the classic JLA/AVENGERS series by the great George Perez was recently reprinted by Hero Initiative. Limited to 7000 copies, we’re asking the comic community to share these high aftermarket sales with charity and give back to this comic community we love. Leaving our forum, let’s enter the TOP 10 comics of this week for 03/22/22.

#ten: Thor #1 | WONDER | 2014 | This first ongoing issue featuring a female Thor (later revealed to be Jane Foster) picks up steam as we get closer to a trailer for THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER. Which has to be any day now, right? We tracked this book a high sale of $330 for a CGC 9.8 with raw copies at a FMV of $108.
#9: STAR WARS: DARK VADER #6 | WONDER | 2017 | The Inquisitors and the Grand Inquisitor, whose first appearance in STAR WARS: DARK VADER #6, was already on fire before their appearance in the Disney+ KENOBI trailer, thanks to speculation and rumors. What their official confirmation, this first appearance is still hot with this week’s high sale of $490 for a CGC 9.8. Raw copies tend to have an FMV of $109.
#8: STAR WARS #2 | WONDER | 1977 | With Obi-Wan gaining more and more attention, his first appearance resumes. Last week we tracked a high sell of $1,920 for a CGC 9.8 with a FMV of $90.
#7: JLA/AVENGERS HERO TPB INITIATIVE | MARVEL/DC | 2022 | Recent health issues around George Perez have highlighted the need for us as a community to contribute to vital organizations like the Hero Initiative. The hero initiative was established as a charity dedicated to helping comic book creators in medical or financial need. George Perez, himself a founding board member, is an example of a comic book creator that this charity would directly benefit from. Marvel & DC have come together to reprint this classic crossover in a paperback limited to 7,000 copies. Initially costing just $30, this is the first official TPB to make it into our top 10 with a high sale of $535 for a raw copy. However, the fair market value is currently hovering around $250. We implore you to consider donating a portion of these profits to Tthe Hero Initiative for those who sell their copies. The intent of this book was to benefit the charity rather than create a rare exclusive with secondary market value. If we can work together to share these secondary market sales, this limited TPB will be an even bigger success by increasing the initial funds raised and giving back directly to the creators we love.
#6: #28 | CC | 2014 | Per Deadline regarding CW’s GOTHAM KNIGHTS, “Fallon Smythe plays Harper Row. The trailer is tied to specific times and covers, like this issue that the show directly matched the cover image with a scene from the show. Additionally, this issue also features Kamala’s origin and her first official costume.
