The Con rises: A preview of Grand Rapids Comic-Con

Colligate columnist Jamie Miller takes on a pyramid-head cosplayer at Grand Rapids Comic-Con April 2021

Greetings Nightlighters, it’s me “the ever-enthusiastic, eagle-eyed, ever-quirky editor” Jamie Miller here once again. Now, my friends, as you know, whenever Comic-Con is on the horizon, I’m there and ready to cover it. And this one will be no exception.

Grand Rapids Comic-Con will take place November 11-13 at DeVos Place.

This scam is already looking interesting. Guests include Austin St. John aka the original Red Power Ranger, Jason Lee Scott, Gray DeLisle-Griffin known for his voices in numerous TV shows and movies including Princess Azula in ‘Avatar: The Last Master of the Universe’. ‘air’ and Daphne Blake with many entries. in the “Scooby-Doo” franchise. The con will also feature a visit from Victoria Price, daughter of legendary actor Vincent Price and author of his biography. Kane Hodder, known for playing Jason Voorhees in four of the “Friday the 13th” films, will also be there along with many other men who have played the iconic horror villain.

As for the organizer of the event, Mark Hodges, he is delighted to have another guest.

PPersonally, I don’t work with guests too much, because I’m running around looking after the fanbase — sort of the reality of the job,” Hodges said. “I want to meet Victoria Price, because I’m a big fan of old movies.

Price is the daughter of movie legend Vincent Price. So overall this is shaping up to be an interesting scam.

The show will run from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 19h. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Three-day tickets are $65. Friday-only tickets are $27, Saturday tickets are $37, and Sunday tickets are $27. Tickets are available at the DeVos Place box office or on line.
